Peugeot hints at future 208 with Polygon Concept

Peugeot has issued the first image of its new futuristic-looking Polygon Concept, giving a sneak preview of the next-generation 208 supermini.

The Polygon Concept previews new design elements that are likely to make it into the next 208

Unveiled ahead of a full reveal on 12 November on the French brand’s YouTube channel, the concept previews new design elements that demonstrate its “vision for the future” and are likely to make it into the next edition of the 208.

Featuring “charismatic French design that defines Peugeot’s next chapter”, the Polygon Concept boasts an “innovative” cabin space along with the brand’s rectangular Hypersquare steering wheel, first shown on the Inception concept of 2023 and due to rollout across Peugeot’s cars from 2026. The Hypersquare comes with steer-by-wire technology, marking a first amongst Stellantis.

Other details revealed in the preview image include a new iteration of Peugeot’s ‘claw’ daytime running lights and possible camera-based rear-view mirrors.

More details will be revealed when the Polygon Concept debuts on 12 November.

Peugeot has also teamed up with Gameloft to create a ‘Peugeot Polygon City’ in Fortnite, based on the shape of the Hypersquare, reaffirming its presence in the gaming universe, and also giving a sneak preview of its upcoming concept car.
